The internationally recognized music group Il Volo is finally heading to the Czech Republic. Her first concert in Prague will take place on October 10, 2023 in the O2 arena and promises an unforgettable evening full of Italian passion. The operatic pop trio consists of tenors Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and baritone Gianluca Ginoble and has already released seven studio albums.
The last album is dedicated to Ennio Morricone called Il Volo Sings Morricone. On the Il Volo Live in concert tour, young singers will present songs from their repertoire, from traditional Italian hits to the most famous world songs.
“We have the honor of welcoming the Il Volo group to Prague for the first time. Their powerful vocals and catchy harmonies have been wowing audiences around the world. We are convinced that their performance in Prague will be a truly unique experience,” says concert organizer Roland Horvath. “Performing in Prague has been our longtime dream. We are very much looking forward to being able to present our show to the Czech audience,” says Il Volo tenor Piero Barone.
The group came together in 2009 during the participation of all singers in the TV talent competition Ti lascio una canzone on Italian television. Subsequently, she experienced a meteoric rise on the international stage, where she became famous for her unique style that combines traditional Italian opera with modern pop elements, often referred to as popera. Their repertoire includes classic Italian songs, but also more modern compositions. Il Volo are known for their powerful and emotional performances, which often contain harmonic triplets. In the course of their career, the group released several successful albums, which were also awarded at the international level.
One of the Italian trio’s biggest successes was winning the prestigious Sanremo Music Festival in 2015 with the song “Grande Amore”. This triumph opened the door for them to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest of the same year, where they took third place.
