One of the best-selling artists on the planet, Ed Sheeran, has once again confirmed that his concerts belong to some of the most sought-after events worldwide. Thanks to the enormous demand and the addition of a second show at the Letňany Airport in Prague, he set a new record for such an attendance at two consecutive concerts. Overall, Letňany welcomed more than 150 000 fans, making the show one of the highest-attended in the Czech Republic, alongside The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson or Pink Floyd. Both Ed Sheeran shows were organised by the Charmenko CZ agency.
Despite releasing his new record “No. 6 Collaborations Project” this week, Ed Sheeran visited Prague with his “Divide” 2019 Tour. The Prague concert was even more attractive due to the fact, that Sheeran did not perform in neighbouring states such as Poland and Slovakia. He returned to Prague 4 years after his sold-out Czech debut in the Tipsort Arena.
„We are truly honoured to be able to bring Ed Sheeran to Prague. We were there when he first performed here and we are ever since proud to watch how well he’s been doing,” says Lenka Muráriková from promoting agency Charmenko CZ.
Both Prague concerts were attended by a total of more than 150 000 attendees.
„We are thrilled to see that we were able to approach the top three highest-attended shows in the Czech Republic, even though ours took place in two consecutive days. With it’s size, this could go down as one of the largest concerts of the decade,” said Michaela Jiráčková from the promoting agency Charmenko CZ. “We would like to thank our entire team, our partners and especially the fans, who were absolutely amazing,” she added later on.
Ed Sheeran was supported in Prague by pop-star Zara Larsson and British singer-songwriter James Bay.
